"Diverlars Presents: Pictures taken on the shipwreck..."INDRA"

The "INDRA"...

The Indra is a 300+ foot ship that served as a landing craft repair ship during the Viet Nam War! It was sunk August 4th, 1992 as part of the artificial reef system. The wreck is a 70' profile (it rest's in about 65 feet of water) and has a relief at about 35 to 40 feet. The wreck is a diver penetration friendly wreck with numerous artifacts on her. It serves as a great training wreck, and also has provided me with some wonderful photo opportunities. The Indra is located 11 miles out and is also great for night dives. A diver can expect to see Big Barracuda and quite frequently, can expect stingrays and amberjacks. Spadefish are also abundant if you have the heart to spearfish! Below I will post a few pictures taken from the decks of the Indra for your viewing pleasure...

On June 24th, 2001, My oldest Son was certified as a Jr. Open Water Diver. I was fortunate enough to be his Divemaster for his first ocean dive on the "Indra". He is fired up about diving and has made a few more dives with me since then. You can see him hit the water on the bottom 2 pictures. More to follow!
